The Food Service Director is responsible for the operation and maintenance of Atlantic Union College’s cafeteria. Directs and oversees all aspects of food service, menu planning, and Dining Hall management.  Responsibilities also include managing work schedules, facility staffing, staff training, supply purchasing, and budget planning.

 

 

  • Plans menus that are nutritious and appealing and in harmony with Scriptural teaching on health.
  • Caters special functions and banquets as requested by College administration or organizations.
  • Plans the work program of the cafeteria and supervises the employees.
  • Instructs and plans in-service training of food service employees in areas of supervision, sanitation, etc.
  • Purchases and inventories food service supplies and other necessary commodities and assures quality food service at minimum cost.
  • Prepares annual budget and purchases equipment in consultation with Sr. VP for Financial Administration.
  • Performs all other reasonably business-related functions as assigned.

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred. At least five years of experience in the field or related. Familiar with a variety of the fields’ concepts, practices, and procedures. General Statement of Duties:

 

The Director of Information Technology/Information System is responsible for providing technology, vision and leadership for developing and implementing IT/IS initiatives that create and maintain leadership for the college in a constantly changing and intensely competitive market. He/She will also be responsible for directing and planning strategic and operational activities, future trends of computer services, and information transmission technology, as well as serving all academic and administrative departments throughout the college. 

 

  • Provide leadership and vision in planning the development, management and integration of information systems for the entire college.
  • Provide guidance and education to all management levels in the effective use of data technology and information systems.
  • Provide enabling technology that makes it easier for customers (both internal and external) and suppliers to do business with the college as well as increase revenue and profitability.
  • Provide timely and appropriate service to all users through effective operation maintenance, implementation and system support.
  • Be responsible for the monitoring and continual development of the college’s e-mail and Internet services.
  • Serve as a resource person and catalyst to provide for efficient and cost effective use of information technology for all the college.
  • Recommend to administration standards and policies to guide in purchases and use of software and hardware.
  • Monitor trends, identify and anticipate changes in delivery technology to meet developing opportunities.
  • Explore new technologies for future planning and potential implementation.
  • Interface with industry on information management and information technology matters, establishing strategic relationships with key IT suppliers and consultants.
  • Be prepared to accept other duties assigned by the supervisor and administration.

Qualifications: 

 

Applicant should have at least an MC degree in computing (Master in Computing.) Or equivalent; or four to ten years related experience and/or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquires or complaints from clients, regulatory agencies, or member of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to administration, Board of Trustees and groups of employees.
